New Year Catch up from Di at the studio!

Whoop Whoop! Our 2nd Batch Saiorse Wool Cashmere has arrived from Uist Wool! It is just so squishy, bouncy and gorgeous! We have 2 natural colours and some fab new patterns! Our special Botanist friend Jill is now preparing to dye some special batches for us for EYF...using plants grown by her and materials foraged in our East Neuk she will be making small batches of very special colours which will speak volumes of the land, the place and the Scotland I adore. Love this sustainable project with Claddach Farm and Uist Wool...everyone gains and grows from it!
We have some amazing new designs being prepared for EYF:
Polar...an exciting Gansey design with all the beautiful traditional knitting details we love. Gussets, Knitting in the round, seamless with wonderful new contemporary stitch patterns showing the Compass, Northern Star, Rigging, Cross Diamonds and much more. In awe of the amazing explorers who left Scotland for the Arctic in the Nineteenth Century....in search of the North Pole. A reminder too of the concerns we all have for global warming and its effects on the last great wildernesses we so need to protect.
Shoowa...a series of designs using Fair Isle in a very contemporary way to create yoked sweaters, swing jackets and accessories using our fabulous Lalland Lambswool. If you love colour you will love the Shoowa Collection!

we love posting pieces sent to us by knitters who love our patterns...thanks to Brenda Hessler who made the Moray Star for her sister for Christmas in the beautiful Agate Lalland Lambswool! We helped Brenda adapt the neckline to suit her sister and she has made a brilliant job of it!
Finally, we are preparing for our adventure in Southern Spain next month for our first retreat in the Alpujarra mountains at Casa Ana! We have one place left!
