Edinburgh Yarn Festival 2019 and we have some goodies for you!!!

Posted by Di Gilpin on

It has been an incredible few months working on our new designs and colours for Edinburgh.

Let me introduce you to Polar! A Gansey with a twist!

Knitted here in the single colour version in Lalland Lambswool colour : Agate

Knitted in the round and seamlessly, there are gussets at both the neck and underarm to create a great fit! Twisted cable ribs and the Compass Design complete the picture. Pattern to be released at EYF!

Here is Polar in Driftwood with the Compass in Haar!

We are delighted too with our new Shoowa designs:

A beautiful swing jacket in 2 colourschemes and 2 sizes! Fair Isle fronts and back in a moving lines pattern using 3 colours!

Short version in Crowdie with our 2 new Lalland Twist colours, Bellrock and Meadowsweet!

Long version in Lalland Storm Petrel with Coruisk, Coral and Bell Heather...note the lovely detail at the cast on and cuffs!

The edges to the jacket have some very special detail too!

Also welcoming my latest crazy idea! A yoked Sweater in Fair Isle with sections reversed to show the stranding on the outside....we are making a snood to match to wear with the design too! Featuring the beautiful bright blue, in Lalland Twist, Bell Rock...a mix of blue and denim!

I am loving too this new colourway for the Geo Yoked Sweater!

Lalland Lambswool in Laggan navy with Crowdie, Meadowsweet, Flame and Bell Rock.

Our beautiful Saorse wool cashmere now has 2 beautiful wee patterns which we will be launching at EYF as Kits. More on this later!

Hope you like the new work and look forward to seeing some of you in Edinburgh!

Happy Knitting,

Di

  • Di and Sheila. Had a great time when the Scotland knitting tour (Irish Touring group) about two weeks ago stopped at your studio and I was able to meet both of you. I would have liked to talk to you both more – but maybe next time. My husband and I own an alpaca ranch in California and I do the hand dyeing. I have started making gauge samples of your handouts with my alpaca and am having fun!

Again, great to meet both of you.
