In September Di received the Fletcher of Saltoun Award from the Saltire Society

The award was in recognition of an outstanding contribution to Scotland’s reputation throughout the world for innovation, hard work, intelligence and superb craftsmanship.                     

Di and Sheila again attended Wool Week in Shetland from Saturday 23rd September, presenting many Classes throughout the event.

On Saturday 16th September, Di Gilpin gave a presentation at the Danish Strikkefestival in Fano, Denmark. Di and Sheila also had a stand at the Strikkefest, where Lalland Lambswool and Patterns were well received.

The Perth Festival of Yarn was the local event for 2017, where Di and Sheila had a stand at the entrance to the Event. Di was invited to deliver the keynote presentation at the event, which was well attended and much appreciated by all concerned.

On Saturday 10th June, Di Gilpin gave a presentation at the Border Textile Group Monthly Meeting at Foulden, nr. Berwick Upon Tweed. The talk focused on some of the special knitting and design techniques that are a speciality of Di Gilpin.

Di and Sheila again attended the sheep pens in Cumbria on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th June 2017. An even better success at this year's stall with more visitors and many more sales of Lalland Lambswool and Patterns achieved. We will be back next year.

Di Gilpin gave a Masterclass in Gansey Knitting at the Rheged Knit and Stitch on 8th and 9th April 2017.

The Di Gilpin Stand was also at the show doing brisk business for new patterns and the lambswool to go with them.

Di Gilpin wasat Edinburgh Yarn Fest in early March 2017.

For the start of the 2017 shows, Di taught Colourwork and Knit/Weave on Thursday 9th and
Crazy Cabling on Saturday 11th March.

Both Classes were completely full, and the main Market Place, held on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th March, sold out of almost all the Lalland Lambswool brought to the event. It proved very popular indeed.

The 16th August 2016 Issue (Issue 101) of the Knitter Magazine features an exciting new design from Di in collaboration with The Fibre Co.

24th and 25th June 2016 saw Di Gilpin at WoolFest in Cockermouth.
Again, Di and Sheila were in the Sheep Pens at Mitchells Action Mart.

In Edinburgh, The Knitting and Stitching Show
from 28th April to 1st May 2016.
Sheila and Di taught 8 classes (see schedule).
In addition there was a stand in the Designer section
selling the Di Gilpin Kits, Wool, Patterns and Garments.

Di Gilpin was at the Edinburgh Yarn Fest at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh on 18th and 19th March 2016

High winds and floods could not stop Di and Sheila hosting a very successful stand at the Knitting and Stitching show in Harrogate. Di taught some classes too!
