Spring Workshop: Gansey and Intarsia Tree of Life patterned Caskie Satchel with leather strap. 

Saturday 28th March - 10.30 am to 4:30pm. All Day class with lunch.

Join us for a special class, exploring knitting in the gansey style and introducing intarsia into the Gansey knit in sections. Di has designed a super satchel with a Tree of Life Motif worked  in Gansey and with a  front pocket in colour using intarsia. There will be the option to design your own too and we will discuss how to fit motifs from our book into your own design if you wish. This is a super creative and fun workshop over a full day. You will also learn how to attach the leather strap with special thread.

The workshop will be from 10.30am to 4.30pm. There will be a small presentation about Gansey Knit and intarsia. Each person will receive the kit for this amazing New Old School Caskie satchel (worth £75) and includes a beautiful Di Gilpin Project bag, hand made leather strap by Romain leather (from Balcaskie Estate)and our Lalland Lambswool Aran to complete  the project!

If you attend this Workshop, please bring:

  • 4mm and 4.5mm needles.
  • a finer cable needle.
