Saturday 18th April 2020 - 10am to 4pm.
The workshop will be based on Gansey knitting. Di has created a beautiful pair of Gansey Socks in our Lalland Lambswool. The class will explore traditional sock knitting techniques with a chance to explore knitting on a set of 4 dpneedles or if preferred short circular needles. The pattern will be full of rich Gansey patterns and we will have some traditional ganseys to show on the day! There will be a chance too to create your own gansey design on the socks and to learn how in insert your initials into the socks! Turning the Heel and all other sock knitting techniques will be explored!
The workshop will be from 10.00am to 4.00pm with a lunch break of an hour. Lunch will be made from local seasonal organic produce and made in our own kitchens at the Farm. We will include, for inspiration, in the hour break a walk around the beautiful gardens at Kellie Castle next door to the Studio.
There will be coffee and biscuits in the morning and tea and cake served in the afternoon.
Each person will receive a beautiful Di Gilpin Project bag, Di Gilpin handmade label and all the materials to make the mittens in Lalland Lambswool.
