Spring Knitting Fever at the Bothy Studio!

Posted by Di Gilpin on

A sunny day at last with the first of our daffodils out in the garden! So much ahead this year to look forward to.....Knitting Festivals, workshops, new designs and having just finished the most challenging design project I have every had to tackle I am feeling really excited and inspired for the next 12 months!

It is going to be a big year for cables...every sort of cable doing every sort of thing.....and colour...intarsia is back along with my favourite 2 colour cast ons and 1&1fairisle ribbon knitting.....see classes at the K & S Show in Edinburgh at the end of April!

We will be at EdinYarnFest in March...and having met Jo and Mica at the Big Stash Exchange last month I have no doubt it is going to be brilliant! Hoping many of you will be there...we will be launching all those new patterns you have been waiting for!

Lots of new colours in the Lalland Lambswool range...and some great ones for Spring Knitting..........Harebell, Spring Greens and Coille are proving real favourites...especially when knitted in tandem....the Herringbone skirt pattern has been re-issued in a tweedy mix of grey and green and is looking fab....we also revisited the Coco Jacket in the Lalland....with great results...Our lovely Alice has been wearing them to her lectures at St.Andrews!

On the horizon too are lots of visits from groups from the States, with workshops in amazing places including Kellie Castle and we will also be at http://www.strikkefestival.dk/en/ the Fano International Knitting Festival organised by the brilliant Christel Seyfarth, with a Fashion Show, presentation and masterclass....also catch up with us at the Loch Ness Knitting Festival, organised by Christel and the Highland Knit Fest group, in September.

We celebrated the birth of a 2nd grandchild 2 days ago and this has brought on a mad knitting rush to make a new baby blanket and some goodies for wee Orin! We will be publishing these patterns in the Fall...but here is a taster of some I made for his wonderful brother Rian...earlier this year! Our special Red Sail gansey, Ski Tracks cashmere ear flap hat and our new cable and ripple pill box hat!

Please note my email is now di.gilpin1@gmail.com following a problem with our server!

Happy Knitting,
